The first worksheet in both spreadsheets is all of our contributions to date. McPherson - $70,107 Gardi - $5,342
I have been doing some calculations regarding our recently filed campaign finance reports, and I would like for you to offer any corrections to my calculations and/or analysis. Please "reply all" so the members of the media I have copied can see any corrections you might offer. (Please see attached spreadsheets)
Morgan,
Most glaring is the extreme disproportionate amount of contributions Morgan McPherson has received to date, from both the Republican Party of Florida, and big money interests outside of District 120. Clearly it reeks of an attempt by outsiders to buy our election, and it is exactly this type of politics that inspired me to run. I've had enough of it, and I hope you have too!
Below is an open letter to Morgan McPherson that presents an analysis of our campaign finance contributions to date. I have yet to hear back. To view the spreadsheets I refer to in the email, please click here for Morgan McPherson's, and click here for Matt Gardi's.
The second worksheet represents only those contributions made from residents or businesses from within District 120. McPherson - $6,250 Gardi - $4,727 (I used mapquest and the State District 120 map to verify data.)
The third worksheet represents all the contributions from ourselves, our family, or businesses that we may be involved in. McPherson - $3,500 Gardi - $3,712 (I used Sunbiz.org to determine this.)
The fourth worksheet represents only contributions made from within the district that are from individuals other than ourselves, our family, or businesses that we may be involved in. McPherson - $2,750 Gardi - $1,015
From my calculations of the over $70,000 you have raised to date only 9% of you contributions come from within District 120. ($6,250/$70,107)
By contrast, over 88% of my contributions have been made from within District 120. ($4,727/$5342)
Now admittedly, I have made personal donations to my campaign to get the ball rolling. So for comparison sake, let's remove any personal contributions, either from ourselves, our family, or businesses that we are directly involved in from the equation and take another look.
It appears that of all your contributions from other than family, a mere 4% is from within District 120, {(All District 120 minus Family)/(All Contributions minus Family)} or {($6250-$3500)/($70,107-$3500)} compared to my 62%. {($4,727-$3,712)/($5,342-$3,712)}
Now, I'm sure your Republican Party of Florida "handlers" who have already inappropriately contributed over $38,000 to your efforts might tell you to point out how little I have raised in general to question my credibility as a candidate. I have been at this a little over 30 days and have raised $1,015 from District 120 residents aside from myself. On the other hand you have only raised $2,750 of similar contributions, and you have been in this race for six months.
I find this disproportionate amount of contributors from outside District 120 disturbing, and a distinct example of someone trying to buy an election.
Tell me again whom will you represent if elected?
