Ever since his early days of childhood, Matt enjoyed the stage and performing. Even way back then, he carried with him an island feel and enthusiasm that he shared with those around him and continues to do so to this day. Over the years he has been influenced by a wide array of musicians such as Van Morrison, Jimmy Buffett, Bob Seger, Zac Brown, Todd Snider, Guy Clark, Robert Earl Keen, Billy Joel, Tom Petty, John Prine, The Eagles, America, Jackson Browne and John Mellencamp. He covers these and many others at his shows, as he mixes in a few of his originals which share the same feel as those that inspired him. Having owned his own Live Music Venue, Matt brings to his shows an empathy for the venue owners and staff and realizes that his performances are a vital component to any given day at the businesses that host him. He rarely takes a break, knows how to promote specials, and upcoming events, and understands the importance of creating a positive experience for every single customer. It's that experience and excitement to perform that allows Matt to appeal to most every demographic, from the young to the more "experienced" live music aficionados. He has the ability to perform for those with a wide range of musical tastes... and always with a tinge of lighthearted sarcasm! Matt is currently performing at venues in the Lower Keys and would welcome the opportunity to play at additional locations.
